Seek your help. I would like to look into the feasibility of creating a program where regular full-time employees can donate accrued vacation, PTO, or Sick Leave to other employees who have a verified (legitimate) need due to a medical situation or other major (catastrophic) type event. I have been researching the topic from some internet and SHRM resources and understand that there are associated tax implications with such an endeavor. If your organization has such a policy or procedure established, I would like to connect with you to see what it entails and/or hear how this practice is managed, utilized, and received by your employees.
