Program Topic:
From Facebook to Firearms – How to Protect Your Entity from Threats and Violence (presented by Heidi Guttau)

Learn from real life legal “war stories” about obtaining protection from the courts for employers. What do you do if someone threatens to harm an employee, a customer, or someone else on your property? What if they actually do commit a violent crime on your premises? This session will cover the legal steps employers can take to protect themselves and others against threatening and potentially violent people. It will also discuss methods for anticipating and reducing the likelihood of employee violence, mitigating liability to victims, and preventing negligent hiring, supervision, and retention.
