Program Title:
Creating an Organizational Environment for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence

Research and demonstrated success of some organizations tell us that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) matter. Organizational performance is better, work environments are more welcoming, and employees experience more professional and personal wellbeing when workplaces are diverse, equitable, and inclusive. Successful DEI outcomes require a systems approach that moves DEI from mere compliance to center stage of organizational strategy and practice. Effectiveness in this area requires the enduring engagement of the entire organization to positively change systems and practices. In this session, we will present what are considered best practices and strategies for, and recognized challenges to engendering environmental shifts where all organizational members, including underrepresented and marginalized members, can experience belonging and have enjoyed opportunities to thrive.

Workshop:

Following the lunch program, Dr. Combs will lead a follow-up and a more extended in-depth discussion of concepts presented at the luncheon plus more.

Presenter:
